As-If Science Jam
We live in a world that argues with models and statistics — yet almost nobody conducts data-based discourse. The As-If Science Jam deliberately perverts the scientific process in order to see through it. Teams formulate absurd hypotheses and confirm them with real data and real statistical methods. Other teams then systematically try to expose the manipulation.
Methodological anchoring: Plankton Research Group. Curation: Michael Hackl. In cooperation with subnet and Schmiede Hallein.
Day 1
The Hypothesis
Datasets, teams, absurd hypotheses.
Day 2
The Forge
Confirmation with real methods. Cherry-picking, p-hacking as a learning task.
Day 3
Offensio / Defensio
Poster session, mutual deconstruction, reflection.
